Role – Fundraising & Events Ambassador (volunteer role)
Line manager – Kelly Dorrington , Head of Resources

We are a local, independent mental health charity. We affiliate to Mind (the National Association for Mental Health) a charity with which we share common values and principles.
Our vision is for West Essex to be a place where people talk openly and positively about mental health, and where everyone gets the support and respect needed to live well. Mind in West Essex welcomes applications from people with their own personal experience of mental illness.
Purpose of the role
To volunteer at events and other fundraising opportunities that are organised throughout the year. You will need to be confident in promoting the charity and speaking to the public in a friendly and approachable way to positively represent our brand.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ambassadors will:
- Help raise awareness of our organisation by attending at least 2 events per year, and talking about our work and encouraging others to get involved.
- Be committed to our vision of making West Essex to be a place where people talk openly and positively about mental health, and where everyone gets the support and respect needed to live well.
- Promote Mind in West Essex to potential supporters.
- Signposting potential clients to relevant services.
- Make conversation with members of the public in a professional manner and inspire people to support us through fundraising.
- Thanking supporters for fundraising they have completed.
The role is:
- Flexible to suit availability
- Requires at least 4 events a year commitment
- Requires a DBS check
- Requires induction and mental health training (provided by Mind in West Essex)
Mind in West Essex will:
- Provide full training and ongoing support
- Provide an induction into the Mind in West Essex organisation and branding
- Create a/Host a fundraising Ambassador peer support group, where you can be in contact with other like minded individuals (permission needed)
- Welcome you to be part of the wider Mind in West Essex fundraising team.
